Happy 4th!

We hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend! We celebrated with a few friends on the 3rd and our good friend's new little baby, Charlotte Adelle. She was born into the Fonville family on Monday and we were so happy to get to meet her. Its hard to believe now that Kate was once that small. We didn't get a picture of Charlotte, but wanted to send our congrats out!

We did not get to go to our neighborhood parade yesterday morning because Kate was asleep and I live by the rule "never wake a sleeping baby", but Kate did enjoy the baby pool we put out on the deck for her and so did Tucker!

Last week was a rough week around here for us. Kate woke up in the night and had gotten sick in her crib. This was a first for us as parents and a first for her. She was scared and proceeded to get sick a few more times. Mike and I sat on the floor looking at one another and wondering what to do. The doctor on call received phone calls and gave us advice and she thankfully stopped being sick and was able to rest a little. I, for one, am not good with anyone getting sick, so it will be a true difficulty I face as a parent. I guess the love you feel for your child though outweighs everything else and you buck up and deal with it. God was with us and I prayed over and over again for Him to make her better. I guess a lot of parents have prayed this prayer many a times... Thankfully she quickly made a full recovery and we are back to normal around here...lots of squeals and lots of laughter!

That first picture is amaaaaaazing! I wanted to tell you that I, too, have the vomit phobia. Absolutely horrified of it. I'm talkin... whenever my students tell me they even have a tummy ache, I send them running with the trash can in the hallway. (Very compassionate, I know.) So I am DREADING Hudson's first episode, and already praying I can handle it lovingly! :) Way to go, MK- and I'm so glad sweet Kate is feeling well again!
