Kate the Caterpillar

Kate has finally taken off! It is so funny to watch her inch across the floor. She gets this intense look on her face and just tries so hard to get where she wants to be. It has taken her a long time to move and that was hard for me when I was around other children her age and they were moving everywhere, and here we have Kate, sitting and looking at them like they are crazy. I look forward to her moving, but also know that this is only the beginning! She is an excellent source for me to know how much hair is in my house too...even though Ivaccumed only hours earlier! (thank you tucker) She will lift up her hand and look at the hair in it or fuzz and then proceed to see how it tastes. WONDERFUL! My daughter is going to cough up a hair ball!

A Little Bit of Everything...

These first pictures document our little scooter. She has learned to scoot herself around the last few days. She has taken a very long time to move, but now she is army crawling and she likes to slide backwards as well. Which is how she ended up underneath the chair, very funny and cute! She still loves to stand and is great at holding on to things. She is not pulling up yet though. With time, I know it will all come!
We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary yesterday. Mike and I started dating 10 years ago though, so its always fun to reminisce about the past. We are so blessed to have met each other and to be where we are and have the family that we do. I love him more with every year. Here is a picture of us on the first night of our honeymoon, exhausted, and here is a picture from this past weekend.

We went to my pledge sister and friend's wedding this past weekend in Fort Worth. It was so fun and we enjoyed seeing our friends a lot and having our families babysit! We could get use to that quickly! Kate and I stayed a few more days to help shop for Aunt Allison's wedding dress and then I took on the challenge of flying back with her by myself. She fell asleep the final 5 minutes of the flight, so you can only imagine how I had to entertain the rest of the time!

One more thing to see...I took a picture of Kate and Mike sitting side by side last night and it was the same picture I took when she was 6 weeks. My how time has flown... :)

Happy 4th!

We hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend! We celebrated with a few friends on the 3rd and our good friend's new little baby, Charlotte Adelle. She was born into the Fonville family on Monday and we were so happy to get to meet her. Its hard to believe now that Kate was once that small. We didn't get a picture of Charlotte, but wanted to send our congrats out!

We did not get to go to our neighborhood parade yesterday morning because Kate was asleep and I live by the rule "never wake a sleeping baby", but Kate did enjoy the baby pool we put out on the deck for her and so did Tucker!

Last week was a rough week around here for us. Kate woke up in the night and had gotten sick in her crib. This was a first for us as parents and a first for her. She was scared and proceeded to get sick a few more times. Mike and I sat on the floor looking at one another and wondering what to do. The doctor on call received phone calls and gave us advice and she thankfully stopped being sick and was able to rest a little. I, for one, am not good with anyone getting sick, so it will be a true difficulty I face as a parent. I guess the love you feel for your child though outweighs everything else and you buck up and deal with it. God was with us and I prayed over and over again for Him to make her better. I guess a lot of parents have prayed this prayer many a times... Thankfully she quickly made a full recovery and we are back to normal around here...lots of squeals and lots of laughter!
