Kate LOVED Christmas this year. It was so special explaining to her why we celebrate this wonderful holiday. She loved all the songs we sang, and surprisingly enough, she loved seeing Santa. Yes, the child who hates all things that make noise and dress up in costumes, loved seeing great big Santa. It was a surprise to us all! The only thing she asked for from Santa was a train (go figure since one used to run through her backyard..) but she also received a fun kitchen. She was treated very well by all her family as well. We had fun celebrating with Mimi and Chip, PawPaw and Uncle Stephen, and then with my whole family back at home. She wasn't sure what to do with all her new presents by the end of it all. We had a very blessed holiday.
The week before Christmas, Kate and I flew to The Woodlands and are here indefinitely until our house sells. Mike will be working in Dallas during the week, Richmond too a little, and then seeing us on the weekends. We had lots of goodbyes with our sweet friends before we left and it was hard knowing that we were actually closing this chapter of our lives in Richmond. But not totally, because Mike and I will return once our house sells to help the movers, and we have lots of dear friends to keep in touch with. Kate has asked to 'go home' many times and we don't have an answer for her. This is heartbreaking, but I know that in due time we will have our home again and she will stop asking this question. Please pray for us as we go through this 'interim' period. We are having a very nice time living with Linny and Grandpa though and are thankful that they have the room to accommodate us and Tucker too. He has become best friends with Lucy and is completely fascinated with their cat, Bert.
I hope that all of your holidays were wonderful and relaxing.
