I have to first apologize for our talking in the background. Mike was embarrassed by his excited, little kid voice and I am cheesy, but isn't that what parents do...make fools of themselves! I also apologize for the big safety net that we have placed around her...could my hands be any closer to her?! After many, many falls, and bloody noses and lips and big bumps on her forehead, we are a bit protective. Also, you know, we have been waiting for these steps a LONG, LONG time. We've come to terms that Kate moves to the beat of her own drum and have been comforted by our great Dr. that her fine motor, speech, and cognitive skills are above board and that her gross motor skills are still occurring in the acceptable time frames. Although, we are guilty of looking at the "scoreboard" and wondering why Kate hasn't take those specific "steps" in her physical development; so nonetheless, we are super excited for this stage even though we know it opens up a whole new world to her and adds chaos to our already hectic lives! T-minus 2 months to get in shape to walk the aisle at Aunt Alleycat's wedding (or maybe we want to ride in a wagon...).
P.S. The "Michael Jordan" tongue wag comes from her father as he still employs it when he is really concentrating. Just another reason people can say, "she really looks/acts like her Dad"

Yay! She is just the cutest thing!
She'll probably start running next week.
No need to apologize for the cheesy voices -- I hate hearing mine on the videos as well.
hope ya'll are doing well!
yeah!!! so exciting kate! keep up the good work!
what a big girl!!! she's so precious! and you are such loving, encouraging parents!
Congratulations Kate! Such an exciting event. We, too, are learning to accept that these little ones each move at their own pace - Caleb is taking his time on the talking front...like you, we've been assured that he's perfectly healthy and just moving to his own rhythm, but man can it be hard no to push! As for the cheesy voices, etc., I think Jake and I can give you a run for your money in Caleb's first walking post...enjoy this special new treat!
That's awesome Kate!! And if that was "cheesy"....wonder what you'd say about our videos...really.
Can't believe how LONG her hair is getting...she's growing up, and so adorable!
way to go kate! stubborn as a mule...just like her mama! ;)
